The Way to Make Pomander Candles for Christmas

By Dede Wilson

Pomander candles are oldfashioned balls of cloves and citrus that fill the room. Your room is enhanced by the candles that are embedded with a holiday setting via light. You want to use tealights, which can be halfdollar size candles, to create these candles. Be certain that your tealights come in little metal cups (most do).

To create 6 pomander candles to your Christmas party these supplies:

*

A very sharp paring knife with a blade that is short

*

A Couple of round toothpicks (optional)

*

6 thickskinned oranges

*

1 cup whole cloves (or more or less, depending on your taste)

* You can find more information about outdoor christmas decorations without electricity at star night laser shower christmas lights.

Follow these steps to create your pomander candles after collecting your own supplies:

*

Slice a piece of skin from the stem end of the orange to make a foundation. Use a sharp knife to cut a hole that is just big enough to match the tealight into out.

The tealight should match with all the skin of the orange even from the orange with the tealight’s surface. Do not fit the tealight.

*

Insert cloves in any routine into the fruit, if you want, even covering the fruit.

Poke holes with a toothpick if the cloves aren’t going in readily and then add the cloves.

*

Put a whole lot of these, or one pomander on a plate . Add the tealights, light, and enjoy.

You may use any fruit that is citrus. Try a variety of citrus, lemons and limes, or grapefruits. Kumquats, while a little more challenging to work with because of their size, make adorable pomanders. These used for their scent and wouldn’t be hollowed and full of candles, but only left as is. Pile the pomanders in a bowl and set them or tie a ribbon and hang them.
